Just a few lines of praise and encouragement for anyone considering an "ablation" . Just do it! I had the procedure done over two years ago by Dr. Spellman and have not had a period or cramping since then. I'm not sure why I used to call it "my friend" because it never was....there were times when I would bleed so heavily for so long that I thought I'd end up in the emergency room. I researched the procedure and spoke with two different gynecologists who were very patient with me and explained the procedure in detail. Yet I was still wary. Eventually, I was so exhausted from from visits from "my friend" all the time (she came much more often than once a month) and the toll she took on my mind and body, I took the plunge and had the procedure done.
